Why doesn't anyone show up at Willy's funeral? Why did the author decide to do this when being "well-liked" was all Willy ever really wanted to acheive in his life?

I think the author does this to show irony. Willy felt that being well-liked was the only thing that mattered, but in the end no one truly was there for him

Although being well-liked was important to Willy, the author shows that being "well-liked" has very little real meaning. It is a point of irnoy that Willy wasn''t in the end able to achieve his goal to become truly 'well-liked' by many people including his family, friends, and fellow workers.
