What is the significance for Ben in this story? And why does Willy continuously talk to himself?

I believe the significance of Ben to the story was to show yet another person Willy was jealous of because of thier success in life, which he felt he did not have. I think when Willy speaks to himself it is because he is resolving situations that have occurred in the past, it just so happens that normal day things are the reminders of these situations.

I think Willy continuously talks to himself because he is always
dissatisfied with his life and thinks he wasn't able to achieve anything unlike his successful brother, Ben. Because Willy cannot achieve what he wants in his life, he keeps all the complaints bottled up and can only
express his feelings by talking to himself.
