Amber's Thesis

Willy's tendency to hide the truth behind a more perfect image causes him to be unable to cope with reality, and essentially ruins his life. If Willy's deceptive and dellusional life had been a success, Biff would not have seen a flaw in disguising the truth, and would not have learned that it is better to be an honest man who doesn't try to cut corners.

I attempted to make my thesis more specific, directed, and a concise. I also decided i would be doing a cause and effect piece so i made sure the verbage of my thesis reflected that. Additionally, i decided i wanted to include how my point relates to Miller's "Tragedy and the Common Man" piece, i hope that's ok?.. Here it is:
The fact that Willy’s deceptive and delusional lifestyle was a failure caused Biff to discover that there are huge flaws in disguising the truth. Because of this discovery, Biff learned to be an honest man who doesn’t try to cut corners, which therefore makes this play the optimistic piece that Miller speaks of in “The Tragedy of the Common Man”
